Bruce Hester Named President for the 2006 - 2007 Year
Bruce Hester was installed as the new Benton Lions Club President for this year. He took office on July 1 2006. In remarks to the group Bruce outlined the goals of his presidency and all goals include the word fun. His number one goal is to increase membership. Bruce said he wanted his entire presidency to make Benton Lions Club a fun club to be a member of, and to invite as many people to join as possible. Bruce said he would like to increase the number of younger members in the club. He said if our activities and meetings are fun then young people would enjoy being Lions. The number two goal also deals in fun and Bruce wants to put the fun into fundraising. In order for the Lion’s club to encourage sight conservation and provide glasses for those who are unable to afford them fundraising is a major part of the club’s activities.
